The death of Alvin W Sears occurred yesterday at his home in the rear of 1489 Main St campello. He was 54 years years of age and had been in poor health for nearly a year, having suffered a shock about that time. A few days ago he wastaken with another slight shock and was obliged to take to his bed again.
He was well known in the city and was one of the veteran employees of the
Street Railway, having been employed as a driver during the days of horse drawn cars in the city and then as a motorman when electric cars were introduced here. The sad death of drowning by one of his sons some time ago and the recent death of his wife, after injuries received in a runaway accident at East brewster, were severe blows to him, and did much to retard his recovery. He leaves one son, Charles F Sears, who is employed as a motorman by the Street Railway Company.
