I have information that she died of uremic poisioning in her 50'S. He's also
in Mountain View Cemetery in Pasadena. She was a teacher in Lake Mills, and
arrived home for the summer on July first, where she met and fell in love with
William Holcomb, who was engaged to her sister Birtha "Birdie". They eloped on
1 Aug 1895. Harold was born in Oct of 1896, William deserted her a year later,
and she went back to teaching in 1898. There was "bad blood" between her and
Birdie. I understand she could have died in a mental institution in 1932. By
then she had worked things out with Birdie.

They moved to Berlin, WI after their marriage and lived there until 1900.
He had charge of the creamery there. Then he moved to Lake Mills, WI where he
operated the "Town Line Creamery." In March 1902 he bought his father's farm
at Favel Grove, WI. Later they moved to Cold Springs, WI where he established
a successful dairy and stock farm of pure breed cattle, known as the "Holstein
Freisian Farm."
Bertha Sears Aldrich had attended the Whitewater State Normal School for
teachers and was engaged in teaching the Jefferson County District schools for
several years prior to her marriage.
She died at the age of 76. She was cremated and her ashes are at Mountain
View Cemetery in Pasadena, CA. I have a photograph taken on her wedding day.
The dress was made by her sister Lottie. I also have a photo of her and
Charles F on their 50th wedding anniversary. Favel Grove is now called
Waterloo.
Bertha was originally engaged to William Holcomb, who eloped with her
sister Clara on 1 Aug 1895. He left Clara a year after the baby was born. I
have a baby picture that Bertha kept in her diary for whatever reason. I also
have information that Lake Mills was called Favel Grove at one time, will
attempt to verify information.

He had been staying in a nursing home, and moved out to live with his daughter
Helen who was an L.V.N. She went to the door to see why an ambulance was at
her house. When they unloaded her father he said "You're a nurse aren't you?
Well, then take care of me!" At one time Waterloo was called Favel Grove.
Dorothy remembers him as being the one to claim Franklin Lester's body when he
died. He went by train to Tomohawk to take care of things. I also have
information that Lake Mills was called Favel Grove at one time, will attempt to
verify information.

the children are hers. Richard seemed to take her death the hardest, and was
later diagnosed with schizophrenia. She was buried in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

When he died he wanted his ashes scattered at Tag Point in Spavinaw. His
two biggest fears seemed to be that he'd end up in a home and he
wouldn't be cremated. Fortunately he never ended up in a home, and he
was cremated.

Arthur married Mary Elizabeth Armstrong, daughter of George Revington Armstrong and Maude Moore, on 16 Jun 1924 in Hutchinson, KANSAS. The marriage ended in divorce. Mary was born 13 Mar 1907 in Kansas City, KS. She died 15 Jan 1995 and was buried 18 Jan 1995 in Tulsa, Tulsa co, OK.

When I found this information he was doing something in his 70's. He was
buried in Crowders Cemetery, I have a picture of him taken at a family bash in
the early 50's.
