During WW II he went to work at an Astoria,NY plant assembling aircraft for the war and hence was exempt from duty in the armed services. He returned to MA and lived at 124 Stafford St, Rochdale, Rochdale, Lowell, Leicester, Brigham Hill Rd in Grafton (1947?-Mar 1952) and then 254 Davis St, Northboro. He worked all his life at Heald Machine Tools in Worcester, a division of Cincinnati Milling Corporation. He started out on the machines, worked his way up to sales and retired. The home at Northboro was originally bought for $7,000 in 1952. This included about 100 acres of land, part of which was a 4 acre pond stocked with fish, and a four story house to which he added four upstairs bedrooms. During the summers my parents also ran a small farm that sold corn, strawberries, melons, pumpkins and a lesser variety of other produce. Much to the despair of my mother he also raised mink which ended in financial embarassment. After my mother's death in 1968 he remarried again in the early 1970's to Pauline Miller a secretary who worked at the Heald Machine Company. He retired, sold the property in Northboro and relocated to a home he had built for himself at 3 Surry Lane in Sandwich on Cape Cod. I am quite sure he had no idea his ancestors were pioneers in settling many towns on the Cape. His hobbies were jazz (he used to sing and play bass in a traveling band during the early 1940's), restoring antique automobiles (1928 Model A, 4 door that we bought in NH for $50) the building of a 50' sailboat, and buying Heath electronics kits (hi-fi stereo equipment) which he assembled at home. Humor and compassion were two of his dominant personality traits. He died as a result of a heart attack from a cancer operation on his lung. He is buried in Lake View Cemetery, Holliston (the town where he was born), MA.

She was born in Worcester, graduated from high school and really didn't "wprk" until the late 1950's as a bookkeeper first at the Jersey Cloth Mills on the Assabet River near the aqueduct in Northboro and later for Bay State Abrasives in Westboro. My mother's hobbies were sewing, painting fill in the number kits, keeping bird feeders well stocked, reading western and romance novels, picking blueberries in the wild and canning fruit and vegetables. She was about 5'3" and weighed a little over 100 pounds, wore glasses and had recurring stiffness in her shoulder joints. She died at work at Bay State Abrasives of a cerebral aneurysm. This may have been a family trait as one of her cousins had the same condition in his leg. She is buried by my father in Lake View Cemetery in Holliston.
