362. Paul Sears (Ebenezer , Paul , Paul , Richard ) was born 29 Nov 1744 in Yarmouth, MA. He died 30 Jan 1810 in Winthrop, ME and was buried in , 181.

S.P. May p.131 Rev EH Sears says: "Paul Sears married a worthy lady of Marblehead, who died giving birth to twins, in the absence of her husband. On his return, finding his wife and babes all dead, he left the country broken-hearted, went to Nova Scotia, and was not heard of afterward." Paul Sears of Marblehead was granted 200 acres, Hallowell, 18 May 1774.
In the history of Winthrop, he is called "a cooper from Cape Cod."
The soldiers' monument there was placed over his grave, but his grave-stone if he had one, is missing.

MBS Reportedly all children were born in Winthrop, ME. The French fairly well kept the English out of what is now Maine near Penobscot until 1750 and that part of the Mass Colony now known as Maine did not become a separate state until 1820. Paul made barrels and wagon wheels.

In 1780, he removed to Douglass, formerly New Sherburne, MA, and thence
to Dover, VT, where he died.

Egg Harbor in 1768. I do not understand that he lived at Egg Harbor, but
probably died there while on a voyage. There may have been other children.

Paul married Parnell Hammond, daughter of Josephus Hammond and Thankful Winslow, on 30 Nov 1755 in Pub Rochester, MA. Parnell was born 24 Mar 1736 in . She died 22 Jan 1817 in Bass River, NJ and was buried in gr-st.

Parnell Sears. Mary E Sinnott of Rosemont, PA (1899) is a gt-gt-gr-dau of
William and Parnel Coffin and wrote the following.

After Mr Tice's death she became a member of St John's Episcopal Church at
Chew's Landing, the rite of baptism being administered in 1836 by the Rweverend
Mr Handell. Her tombstone reads " In Memory of Parnel Tyler late wife and
widow in their turn Paul Sears and William Coffin deceased. Who departed this
life Jnaury 22d 1817 in the 82nd year of her age.

Thomas' Regt., which landed at Halifax, N.S., 11 MAy 1759, and like many others is marked as "absconded."
He was also a member of 2d Co. Foot, Capt Nath'l Hammond, from Rochester,
called after the battle of Lexington; marched as far as Marshfield; 80 miles'
travel; 4 days' service; 12s, and 4s 2d; served in Capt. Barnabas Doty's Co.,
alarm at Dartmouth, Sep 5 to 11, 1778; also Sep 13 to 17 at l8 per mo.; and
did duty at R.I., Mar 9 to 31, in Capt. Stephen Churchill's Co., and from Aug 5 to 1 Dec 1781, in Capt. Elijah Baker's Co.; wages, l7 17 4.
He was a farmer, and an active man in his day.
His will, dated 1 Apr 1816, was allowed 25 May 1816; John Sears, Exr; and
names wife Elizabeth, sons Nathaniel, Prince, Silas and John, and daus. Susanna Keene and Elizabeth Bryant.
