!S.P. May p.323 Washington was one of the pioneers of northern Illinois, having removed fromBristol, NY, in 1838, with his widowed mother, six brothers, and three sisters. All of the family settled on farms within six miles of each other. Two of the sisters eventually went West and died, one in Oregon, and one in Iowa; all have now passed away except the youngest, Mr H.O. Sears of Garden Prarie. Mr Sears was a sincere Christian, a member of the Congregational Church, and was dearly loved by all of us who were his kindred, and highly respected by everyone who knew him.
