7160. Haman Hannibal Sears (Heman , Isaac , Knowles , James , Silas , Silas , Richard ) was born 18 Jul 1839 in Newfane, NY. He died 27 Dec 1879.

Cleary (by Marietta Goodman): Attended district school and Lockport Union School, Lockport, NY. Although he left school when his father broke his arm and needed his help on the farm, he returned to the Armor School after he was twenty-one. While in Lockport as a student, he boarded with Mrs Birdsall Holly who lived on the west side of Market Street between the railroad bridge and the Bewley building. At one time he, with some other boys, possibly Jacob Goodspeed, Romayne Noble and James Curtis, his friends at the time, furnished a room. Among his father's contributions were a black walnut table (two leaves) and a stout chair (known as a wooden bottomed chair) and a two griddled stove with elevated oven, later used in the sitting room at grandfather's house.

Soon after leaving school father bought of his cousin, Isaac Sears, forty acres of the 120 acre farm originally owned by his grandfather, Isaac Sears.

19 Jun 1867, Haman H Sears was married to Marcena Sylvenia Strong, daughter of Alonzo and marilla Brown Strong, at Olcott, NY. Not long afterward father bought of Sylvester Sweet thirty-two acres of the farm originally owned by Isaac Sears. 6 Dec 1867 fire, supposed to be of incendiary origin destroyed the barn on the home farm, with contents. Insurance $300. In 1871 the barn was rebuilt.

He was elected trustee of the school district.

In 1876, in company with Hattie Strong, his sister-in-law, Charles Shaw, his brother-in-law, and Mrs Morris Halstead of Olcott, NY spent a week a the Centennial in Philadelphia.

In 1878 he went to Michigan to visit his sister, Polly Lewis. He died after an illness of three days. Services were in Olcott, NY in the Methodist Church, 31 Dec 1879. Rev Eli Whitney preached from John 11:35. Buried at Olcott.

Haman married Marcena Sylvenia Strong, daughter of Alonzo Strong and Marilla Brown, on 19 Jun 1867 in Olcott, NY.

Cleary: It is believed Isaac and Hannah met on an Erie Canal packet. They lived on the Phillips Road, then moved to a house just east of his mother's home on the Drakes Settlement Road (later known as the Billie Bolger house). Afterward he bought a farm on the Fuller Road, where Loren Sears now resides. When no longer able to operate his farm he bought a house at 5 Sunnyside, Lockport where he spent his last days.

Isaac married Hannah Sweet, daughter of Sylvester Sweet, on 21 Dec 1858 in Newfane, NY. Hannah was born 5 Oct 1835 in Newfane, NY.

  9780 M x Frank Sears was born 9 Feb 1878 in Newfane, NY. He died 4 Sep 1971 and was buried in Wright's Corners Cemetery, 3927.

Cleary: Frank and Anna bought the farm at N Evans, NY and lived there several years, then bought a farm on the Smoyer (Nelson) Road, Wilson. Later bought and remodeled several places, one at Jeddo, two on the Checker Tavern Road, near Gasport. Frank lived alone for sometime, after his sister-in-law Winifred Snow became ill. The last eight years of his life he made his home with Alice Wood Schultz, a niece, on the Fuller Road.lr. 14028

        Frank married Anna Mary Siemdorf on 30 Jun 1909 in Lockport, NY. Anna died 4 Mar 1959.
