S.P. May p.225 Willard Sears was a reliable, Christian man, and unusually
conscientious. It is related of him that on one occasion having found a pocketbook with money in it, and no owner appearing, he mounted his horse and rode continuously for three days, until he placed it in the hands of its owner.

According to History of Delaware co, NY, 1856, p.426 Joshua Bailey, among
others, signed as member of "The Social League" -- 1st temperance society in
county. Society was also against gambling, and "excesses that lead to
disgrace!" Mr Bailey was born in E Hampton, CT, in 1763, removed to Meredith,
Delaware co in 1803, and lived in a log cabin seven years, enduring hardships
and priovation sincident to the life of a pioneer. he removed from Meredith to
Cohoes in 1835, where he continued to reside with his son Joshua until the day
of his death.

Timothy was part of the firm of Egberts & Bailey, the first factory in which
knitting machinery was successfully run by water power in Cohoes, which he
perfected. Later on, he lost his business to a fire, but saved some machiuneryand removed to Ballston, NY, where he started the Ballston Knitting Mills,
still in existence.
        Timothy married Hannah. Hannah was born 1798 in .

1468. Benjamin Sears Rev. (Elkanah , Joshua , Paul , Paul , Richard ) was born 21 Feb 1771 in Chatham, CT. He died 11 Oct 1822 in Delaware, OH and was buried in Bucyrus, Crawford, OH, 530.

S.P. May p.226 "In early life Benjamin Sears followed farming and coopering,
with his father; rem. from Chatham, CT, to New Durham, Greene co, NY, and thence after two years, he penetrated the forest still further, to Delaware, OH, where he resided till his death.
He filled with honor and esteem various military offices.
Changing his views of the Christian religion, he joined the Baptist Church,
devoted himself to the ministry, received ordination, and after serving his
church for some years, to its great increase, took his leave for a more extended field. He received his appointment as missionary, and traveling with his two sons, John and Benjamin, and John's wife, he went to Fort Wayne, IN, his sons having received appointments to labor as missionaries among the Indians. He returned from the mission to Delaware, and died soon afterward, much lamented as a man of energy and piety.

75 miles from home, wages L12.9.4; he was in Capt John Barrows' Co., Col Caleb
Hyde's Regt, and served at Stillwater, NY, 20-28 Oct 17__; 9 days, 60 miles
travel.
Rev EH Sears says:"He enlisted in the war of the Revolution, was in Washington
s Army, and passed through the trying scenes of the New Jersey Campaign."
