        Olive married Jacob Sears, son of Daniel Sears and Lucy Eldridge, on 29 Apr 1860. Jacob was born 5 May 1823 in Dennis, MA. He died 8 Aug 1871.

Jacob Sears Memorial Library, E Dennis, MA: Jacob lived with his parents,
brother Silas, and his sister Sally, in a two-storey house built in 1820 with a barn attached. It has been said his father Daniel, was a farmer.
Jacob became a very successful business man. he invented a method of
shipping cranberries in casks filled with water, allowing them to arrive in
distant ports perfectly fresh. He was involved in many other ventures
contributing to his success. He married the girl next door - Olive Kelley, the daughter of Stillman Kelley who lived in the white house on Sea St just before Cole Pond Rd.
In the 1850's Jacob and Olive added the three storeys to their house on Sea
St opposite Pleasant St. The large south parlor is the full width of the
addition and was used by Sears for many social events, as they enjoyed
entertaining.
Unfortunately, he died at the age of 47 years. His will was filed for
probate on 12 Sep 1871: "After the said Olive F Sears is no longer my widow,
either by death or otherwise, I give and bequeath all that may remain of my
property for the benefit of the inhabitants of E Dennis and vicinity for
educational purposes. One third of said property to be appropriated for a
building and appurtenances which shall be located on Quivett Neck in E Dennis, and the other two-thirds to be a fund for the support of said institution, the interest of said fund to be so appropriated. The whole to be under the exclusive control of the inhabitants of Quivet Neck."
After the death of Olive Sears, the legislature on 20 Mar 1908, passed Acts
1908 Chapter 254, creating the Jacob Sears Memorial Library Corporation, naming Henry H Sears, C Walter Hall and Prince Crowell, and their successors,
Incorporators and Trustees for the purpose of maintaining the library of which they were Trustees under Jacob Sears' will.

Yarmouth Register, 4 Aug 1900, p 5, East Dennis - Quivet Neck Obituary, Our community was saddened by the announcement of the very sudden death of one of our respected citizens, Mr E Bailey Sears, who passed away on Saturday morning, July 28th, the immediate cause of his death being heart failure. He had arrived at the advanced age of 74 years, 1 month, 21 days. He was born in East Dennis June 7, 1826, and was the son of the late Heman and Nabby Sears. He was married Nov 30, 1848, to Harriet N Fish of East Sandwich, and had three sons and two daughters. He had always made his home in East Dennis, with the exception of the time spent in Sandwich, at which place he learned the carpenter's trade, also that of undertaker, having been employed in these occupations as long as his health permitted. Mr Sears was a kind husband, a loving father and a sympathetic and genial friend and neighbor, and a sense of sorrow and loss has been brought home to many hearts, by whom he will be greatly missed. He leaves a widow, two sons, Henry S F Sears of Bridgewater, and Fred. H Sears, East Dennis, one sister, Mrs Abbie Dunbar, Hingham, and two grandchildren, Howard and Maurice Sears, to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held at his late home Monday at 1.30 p.m., conducted by Rev Fred. W Flood. Two selections were effectively rendered by Mrs Paul F Sears, Miss Cora Packard, T D Sears, and Rev Mr Flood. The pall bearers were A T Chase, Hemam[sic] Sears, Henry Smalley and Wm G Sears.
