6 Jul to 18 Dec 1780, 5 mos 14 days, and 240 miles' travel, L12.2.10.
After the war he removed to Portage, Allegany co, NY (now Livingston co), and
in the census of 1840 is set down as a Revolutionary pensioner, and living with
Nath'l Rathbun.

OH, where he remained but a short time, and thence to KY. He joined the Meth.
EPis. Ch. previous to 1838, and was licensed to preach in that year, and
appointed to Taylorsville Circuit as junior preacher; was transferred to Ind.
Conference in 1845, and appointed to Vincennes Station, and in 1846 to Spencer
Circuit. "Bro. Sears was a man of very strong faith, deep piety, a truly
evangelical preacher, and a good pastor."
